Arts Alive Happenings in Leominster

Leominster Cultural Consortium has been working with Arts Alive and Leominster Community Centre to bring film screenings and live events to Leominster.

We started our pilot monthly film screenings on the first Saturday of the month back at the beginning of 2023 and they have gone so well that they are now a regular fixture in the Leominster diary. The next film screening is A Haunting in Venice:

Now that films have settled in, it has been time to focus on the live arts programme, particularly for children and families, and the new Young Cinema Club. A free presentation of Robin Hood, a one hour family show, in December was a great success, with tickets selling out so quickly that we had to add more.

"Great Fun! First time my daughter has seen live performance she loved it!" - Robin Hood Audience Member

Arts Alive have this to say:

"Following on from last year's free panto, Robin Hood by Same Difference Arts, Arts Alive is excited to once again collaborate with Leominster ROARS to bring The Greatest Robot Ever to Leominster Community Centre this half-term.

As well as our live performance offer, we are also excited to be bringing film screenings to young audiences in Leominster, providing a cinema experience at a reduced cost without the need to travel.

Working alongside the community to bring affordable, high-quality, cultural experiences to their doorstep is at the heart of what we do, and it is with thanks to Leominster ROARS, Leominster Community Centre and our funders: BFI, ACE and the Elmley Foundation that we are able to do this."

Featuring performance and a participatory dance workshop, Leominster Roars is hoping this show will introduce even more children to the joys of live performance. And we are hoping that the interactive element, asking young audiences to vote for the film that they would like to see, will encourage a new generation of film-goers.

Here's to an ongoing, vibrant and sustainble live arts and film offer in Leominster for years to come.
